Bio:

Dr. Allison specializes in the literature and culture of nineteenth-century Britain. His research interests include intellectual history, utopian literature and theory, and the impact of industrialism on British culture. He has presented research on Matthew Arnold, George Eliot, and Thomas Carlyle at conferences in the US and abroad. He teaches freshman writing, as well as courses in Victorian, Romantic, and utopian literature.
